Crystal Green, Educational Therapist
MEET YOUR TUTOR
Hello! I’m Crystal Green, the founder, and owner of EverGreen Literacy, LLC in Norman, Oklahoma. I’ve taught children for 14 years, and I’ve taught 5-year-olds to adults! I love literacy, from the joy of a fantastic story to all the “technical” stuff about the best methods to help struggling readers and writers. I kind of geek out on the science of what makes readers “tick.”
In the fall of 2019, I started EverGreen Literacy and feel like the luckiest gal on the planet! I watch the extraordinary transformation that occurs when a child finally blasts through the roadblocks in the way of their reading success. Working with all these amazing families who have welcomed me into their world has been incredible!
If we choose to work together, know that you are working with someone highly committed to your child’s growth and success! I have worked hard to continue learning so that I would see that I was offering the very best opportunities for your child. It is essential that your child experiences lots of “wins” and feels successful!
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
OUR APPROACH
We approach each child with an individual diagnostic assessment to determine their current strengths and pinpoint their learning needs. Next, we use the results to create a customized learning plan or choose a curriculum that we think will best serve your child. Either of these paths will bolster student achievement and increase confidence. We work hard to make learning fun. We play games while we practice, and we can send you games to play at home for extra practice. The results are transformative! We will reassess every 3-4 months to show you how much your child has grown.
I have dedicated my life to the academic success of my students. My goal to continually expand my education makes me uniquely qualified as a tutor. In addition to having over a decade of experience as a public school teacher and reading specialist, I hold a master’s degree in reading, LETRS certification, National Board Certification, and Oklahoma teaching credentials. I am also a Certified Academic Language Therapist and trained Reading Specialist.
Learning to read opens new worlds to our children. I offer literacy interventions tailored to each student’s needs. If your child is having difficulties in reading, whether they are formally diagnosed with dyslexia or a learning disability/difference, I can help them grow to be a stronger reader.
My services, commonly called “tutoring,” differ significantly from traditional tutoring. My extensive education, training, and experience in the theory and practice of literacy remediation enable me to tailor a reading program for your child’s specific reading challenges.
As a parent, you already know that literacy difficulties not only impact a student’s academic life but also their social and emotional well-being. My office is a safe and welcoming environment. I will help your child improve their literacy abilities and build confidence as well. Together, we can open a world of possibilities for your child.
